Au Revoir Aquitaine!

Over the Mountains to Provence

Well, this has been a great start to my study abroad. I've really spent a lot of time in one place getting to know the real France! I've stayed with a great family and met several others.

A great view of the Atlantic ocean when
the tide comes in. There's a storm coming here.
Walking about Ile Madame.

Today we start out for Provence, with a couple of stops on the way, we'll arrive by the week-end at Avignon for my first look at the University and my new home away from home, the Foyer.

Beach combing for bits of glass and shells.
It's warm here in January compared to Illinois.

As we travel east towards the mountains, the Massif Central,
I have a few more photos of Aquitaine in my rear-view mirror.

A look into the fortifications at Brouges.

The neighbor's chickens kept in an old bomb shelter!
Ya, okay, they do remind me of home. But not the bomb shelter.
