| A view of the estuary |
Well, I've arrived-- a couple of days ago, that is. It's really pretty here, and warm! I don't need a winter coat. Yeah! I'm staying in a small village near an estuary above Bordeaux. The house is a comfortable, stone place. In fact, there's lots of stones here. Most houses are built from them.

The people are friendly and interested in chatting. The family I'm with knows a lot of their neighbors! The village plans a New Years Eve celebration and I'm invited. I'll see what that's all about! I'll be here until the University re-opens in January.
